North of 190th Street, East of Hawthrone, South of Redondo Beach Blvd. and West of Crenshaw Blvd is Northwest Torrance. One of the larger parks in Torrance is Columbia Regional Park off of Prairie Ave. and 190th Street. Just north of that is Magruder Middle School, one of the four schools in this area. The other schools are North High School, Yukon Elementary, Edison Elementary and Carr Elementary. The homes in this area are a bit older than South Torrance homes so the original homes tend to be smaller in square footage. Many have been remodeled or have additions. This area also has the 405 freeway running through it with a few on and off ramps.
