Located on the North East side of the Peninsula, bordering South Torrance and Lomita Rolling Hills Estates is known for incorporating the equestrian lifestyle into their area. It is quite common to see horse and rider trotting along a trail or waiting at a stop light to cross Hawthorne boulevard, the city has even installed crosswalk buttons higher on street poles so riders can reach without dismounting their horse.
